HAIR APPARENT: GORGEOUS HEAD CHIC

While I'm a designer and lover of beautiful veils and veil treatments, top notch hair dressing has my attention too. It shows off you and your dress to the best advantage. The talented hair and makeup artist, Christal Saville has concocted some award winning looks here with her exqusite hairstyling and line of hair jewels for brides on their wedding day. Since brides are wanting hair jewelry added to the 'topping it off''repertoire, she's made available the stick pin hair jewels shown in these images so difficult to find out there. Check out the variations here from pearls to rhinestone, round and star shapes . . . A bride's crown of glory is sometimes her way of pulling the whole look together whether her hair is worn up, down or even with a veil tacked to the back of a bun, back and out of the way.

LILACS AND LAVENDAR

Lavendar reminds me of my grandmother who wore this signature fragrance all her life. UPCYCLED VINTAGE FROM AMOUR SANS ANGUISH

If you're one of those brides looking for something a little different on your wedding day, check out Amour sans Anguish on Etsy. Their pieces are made solely out of recycled and found materials. How about these tattered looks? If you want to go cutting edge- vintage while practicing green friendly alternatives at the same time, this store and these designers are definitely for you.

Veil, fascinator or hat? I'd call this a hybrid of all three. Horsehair is one of those magnificent materials that invokes the creative process. While this head piece pairs beautifully with the vintage gown here, it would rock, pop and add a whole new dimension to a more contemporary sheath or A-line.

The inspiration for this originally came from visiting the third floor of Britex in San Francisco where all the bridal notions are kept. Seems all I need is a peek at a few materials and I'm good for another season of magic. . .

WHAT'S NEW IN THE GOWN GALLERY?

As you'll recall I did a shoot with some very talented and inventive folks a couple weeks back. This is the first of many great images that are part of 'The White Silk and Lace Series'. I call this gown and ensemble, 'Gaucho' perfect for the bride looking for a different way to express herself. We replaced the veil here with the classic gaucho hat and some opera length black gloves. Chantilly lace gauntlets and matching jabot accent the arms. When we did add a lace mantilla to this gown as a headpiece the result was stunning. Stay tuned...
